Abstract
Perspectivas Sonoras is a research-creation project that develops original repertoire for percussion trio grounded in Colombian traditional musics while advancing higher-education pedagogy. Led by Wilson Tovar (UNIBAC) with collaborators Héctor Tascón and Fernando Valencia, the project responds to a curricular gap: the scarcity of academically oriented works designed for classroom ensembles featuring marimba de concierto, marimba de chonta, and vibraphone. Emerging from a situated, practice-led methodology —rehearsal room, classroom, and student inquiry— the collection reimagines heritage as a living source for technical learning, artistic exploration, and collaborative making. The percombia ensemble was formed to compose, test, interpret, and disseminate the pieces, integrating creative, performative, pedagogical, and investigative dimensions; premieres and academic showings include PAS Day 2025 (University of Arkansas).
